PHE: Patients Should Be Allowed To Vape In Bed

Public Health England (PHE) has told hospitals to start selling e-cigarettes and letting patients vape indoors, even in their hospital beds. The public health agency said every smoker struggling to quit, including pregnant women, should be encouraged to start using e-cigarettes.

Officials advised hospitals to replace smoking shelters with vaping lounges and they said the devices should be given out by prescription to encourage adoption of the safer nicotine delivery systems.

The PHE also recently published an independent review into the evidence surrounding electronic cigarettes. This all comes while the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States continues to try to impose prohibitive regulations on electronic cigarettes.
